πŸ™‚ We used John for two different days in early 2009 to visit the Great Wall, Ming Tombs and a host of other attractions. John is nothing less than superb. A fabulous personality, excellent car and wonderful sense of humour. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him and learned so much about his exceptional country. All three of us would have no hesitation what so ever in recommending him to anyone. Hiring John and his car is time and money very well spent !!!

John is a legend. If you need to get somewhere in and around Beijing book him. He s knowledgeable, polite, reliable, friendly and great company. You ll learn more about China in a day with him than you will from a boring guidebook. I was only in Beijing for two days so needed to make the most of my time. John helped me do that. Oh, and if you do book him try and take some small currency (coins) from your own country - his daughter collects them. Mike

Hello John, We were so lucky to have the pleasure of meeting you when we were in Beijing in May 2008. I have told everyone how kind and efficient you were. I feel we made a friend in you. The lunch we shared was fantastic. When we come back, you will be the first to know.

My daughter and I came to Beijing in June and hired John as our driver for two days. My family thought I was nuts hiring a driver via the web. Well.... after our great experience with John, my family has changed their tune and considers my hiring John as a Stroke of Genius . I was most concerned for our safety, and heard bad things about the organized tour groups. Originally I hired John for one day but liked him so much, I asked for and was lucky enough to get a second day. John took us our to the Muytiani area of the Great Wall and the Summer Place. He arrived on time and was a very safe driver. His car is nicely equipped, and the air conditioning works great which is important in the hot Beijing summer. Seat belts are always available as opposed to taxis and his car was spotlessly clean and did not smell of smoke. John worked around my schedule and accommodated my handicaps. I have to eat frequently and luckily he was quickly able to find us great places to eat and drink quickly. The second day we went to the Great Wall at Badaling and the Ming Tombs. I was not able to walk to far since I over did it the previous days before. but somehow he was able to park the car within 5 cars spaces of the cable lift. Don t know how he worked that magic considering the parking lots were full, but talking to the right people and accommodating my needs puts him high on my list. I also had a cell phone but ran out of RMB. My dad s birthday was July 2nd and I was frantically trying to figure out how to get my phone juiced up so I could call the USA in time for my dad s birthday. Well, after John picked us up and I told him of my problem, he stopped right away. Bottom line, in five minutes, I was on the phone to my Dad to wish him Happy Birthday! That meant quite a bit to me and my dad as well. I would hire him in a heartbeat again. He knows his way around the city, is entertaining and a safe driver with a really nice car. All the right combinations. Mary:D πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€ πŸ™‚ :twinky:

John: Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed having you drive us to Jinshanling. The walk on the wall to Simatai (and the zip line down) were the highlights of what was a wonderful trip. To anyone who is looking for a reference, I would highly recommend John. He was waiting for us at the hotel at our prearranged time, provided a great deal of insight into his country and was a true pleasure to visit with throughout our day (he also does a pretty mean Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation!). Should our travels take us back to Beijing we will definetly seek John out.

My husband and I returned from Beijing few weeks ago, and we had a wonderful 8 days. After a great deal of research and reading many posts on Tripadvisor, we decided to go to Mutianyu area of the Great Wall. On several tripadvisor forums, a great number of people had suggested John so we visited his website and took everyone s advice and contacted John. John replied to our email very promptly, actually within less than 24 hours and gave us a quotation. After exchanging few emails, we agreed on a time date and price, and on the day of the visit, at the exact promised time, John called our hotel room from the Hotel Lobby saying he was downstairs. His car was brand new, air-conditioned and he even has English guide books and magazines in the car to keep the tourist busy during the ride, but if I were you, I would just enjoy the scenery because passing by small villages is a wonderful site. John himself is a gentleman, he is friendly and kind and best of all he loves what he does and is great at it. I learned more about the Chinese culture from him and our conversation than I did in an entire week in Beijing. Although he is very humble about his English skills, I think he was one of the few people we met in Beijing who spoke English so fluently. When we got to the Great Wall he parked the car and came all the way with us until we had our tickets, he gave us great advice on which routs to go if we want a great view and good photo opportunity. When we came down from the Great Wall, he was waiting for us downstairs and even told us how to bargain with the vendors, which was a great tip. We returned to our hotel relaxed and happy. I must also add that I get very nervous when I am on road while traveling, but John was a a good and captious driver and I really felt safe in his car, besides the roads are brand new and in great shape. We were so glad we went to the Great Wall with John because I have heard so many people complain about taking tour busses and not having enough time, so we thank everyone for recommending him and want to recommend him to anyone who is planning to go to the Great Wall or any other sites around Beijing….you ll love it!!! Thank you John, it was wonderful being in your country and meeting you. All the best to you, your wife, your daughter and your parents!

I just got back from China couple weeks ago. During our time in Beijing, me, my husband and my father hired John to take us to the Great Wall at Mutianyu and Summer Palace. He picked us up at our hotel, very punctual. John speaks wonderful english, very outgoing, fun and great to talk to. He is very considerate and made sure we enjoyed ourselves. After a long hike at the Great Wall, he took us to a local restuarant nearby for lunch where you can pick your own fresh fish to cook however you like. Then we drove by the Olympic stadium, unfortunately didn t get to pull over but I did get a few decent pictures. Afterwards we went to Summer Palace and had more fun. I just want to say thank you so much John for everything! I look forward to visiting the Great Wall again in the future and doing the longer remote hike when I don t have my father in tow. We highly recommend John for a guide in Beijing. You won t regret it! Cheers! Julie from NYC

We were lucky to have booked one day with John on April 13, 2008 who drove us to the Great Wall Mutianyu section and Hongluo temple. John is an experienced English-speaking Beijing driver with very warm and pleasing personality. He makes sure his guests are safe and happy during the trip. He is also very accomodating to your requests and flexible to tailor your trip according to what you want. He accompanied us for lunch to a very tasty and sumptuous meal with donkey meat which I must say, was GOOD! I would definitely recommend him to anyone who needs a private driver in Beijing.

My Daughter, Wife, Son and I, We were fortunate to find and reserve John for one day to take us to the Great Wall at Mutianyu, the Hutang, The Birds Nest and to lunch. John is a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. We give John our highest recommendation! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip with him. John was fun and interesting to talk to, we really learned a lot about the city from him and he even arranged a Peking Duck Dinner at an out of the way and very good restaurant. We definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a great driver in Beijing. His car is very nice and big enough for John and our family of four adult people. He has a wealth of knowledge about Beijng, China, its culture and history. I would book early with the Olympics coming this summer he is bound to be busy. If you are looking for a driver in Beijing-you can not go wrong with John! Thank you again John and sorry it took so long to post. Every time we look at the photos, we thank you. Rick, Sue, Jackie and Brendon PS: anyone needing more of a recommendation or picture please feel free to email me
